How many sons did Absalom have?
2 Samuel 14:27, "Three sons and a daughter were born to Absalom. The daughter's name was Tamar, and she became a beautiful woman."
2 Samuel 18:18, "During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King's Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought, 'I have no son to carry on the memory of my name.' He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom's Monument to this day."
According to 2 Samuel chapter 14, Absalom had three sons, however, according to 2 Samuel chapter 18, he claimed he had no son to carry on his name.
"Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth."
