Is the ark of the covenant a graven image?
Exodus 20:4, "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below."
Exodus 25:18-20, "And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover."
According to Exodus 20:4, God commanded, "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below," however, according to Exodus 25:18-20, God ordered Moses to create the liekness of two cherubim.
"Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth."
